Asia-Pacific’s power industry IT hiring activity rises 12.5% in November 2021

Asia-Pacific witnessed a 12.5% rise in IT hiring activity in the power industry in November 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics dashboard.

November 2021 has seen an increase of 10.84% in the overall hiring activity when compared with October 2021.

IT jobs accounted for a 21.24% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in November 2021, registering an increase of 0.78% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in November 2021

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Asia-Pacific with a share of 71.45% in November 2021, a 41.61% rise over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 10.31% in November 2021, marking a 47.37% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 9.58% in November 2021, a 30% rise from October 2021.

Computer Support Specialists registered a share of 6.81% in November 2021, a 42.31% rise over the previous month.

Top five power companies in Asia-Pacific’s IT recruitment activity in November 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 50% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Asia-Pacific’s power industry during November 2021 over previous month.

Siemens posted 136 IT jobs in November 2021 and registered an increase of 15.25% over the previous month, followed by Schneider Electric with 71 jobs and a 2.9% growth. Landis+Gyr Group with 69 IT jobs and Snowy Hydro with 61 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a 90.63% rise, respectively, while Vestas Wind Systems recorded a 9.52% increase with 23 job postings during November 2021.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Asia-Pacific’s power industry

India commanded a leading presence in the region’s power industry IT hiring activity with a 55.62% share in November 2021, a 25.83% increase over October 2021. Australia featured next with a 19.52% share, up 51.43% over the previous month. China recorded a 9.02% share, a growth of 133.33% compared with October 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in November 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 53.22%, up by 30.18% from October 2021. Mid Level positions with a 31.86% share, registered a growth of 28.15% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 14.73% share, up 185.71% over October 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.18%, recording a month-on-month decline of 66.67%.
