Australia’s power industry registered a 49.3% rise in IT hiring activity in November 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 8.42% in November 2021 when compared with October 2021.

Out of the power industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 19.51% share in November 2021, recording an increase of 6.21% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Australia’s power industry’s IT recruitment activity in November 2021

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Australia’s power industry in November 2021.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 78.3% in November 2021, registering a 66% growth over the previous month.

2) Computer and Information Analysts claimed an 8.49% share, an increase of 350% over the previous month.

3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 6.6%, registering a flat growth from October 2021.

4) Database and Network Administrators and Architects captured a share of 5.66%, down 25% over the previous month.

Top five power companies in Australia’s IT recruitment activity in November 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 86.67% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Australia’s power industry during November 2021 over October 2021.

Snowy Hydro posted 61 IT jobs in November 2021 and registered a rise of 90.63% over the previous month, followed by Clearway Energy with 6 jobs and a 500% growth. Elektro Eletricidade E Servicos with 6 IT jobs and Iberdrola with 6 jobs, recorded a 200% growth and a 200% growth, respectively, while Origin Energy recorded a decline of 37.5% with 5 job postings during November 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in November 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 45.28%, up by 65.52% from October 2021. Entry Level positions with a 36.79% share, registered an increase of 875% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 17.92% share, down 45.71% over October 2021.
