Europe witnessed a 10.1% rise in IT hiring activity in the power industry in November 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics dashboard.

November 2021 has seen an increase of 10.5% in the overall hiring activity when compared with October 2021.

IT jobs accounted for a 10.7% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in November 2021, registering an increase of 0.27% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in November 2021

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 63.72% in November 2021, a 24.44% rise over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 15.8% in November 2021, marking a 5.04% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 11% in November 2021, a 3.57% rise from October 2021.

Computer Support Specialists registered a share of 4.42% in November 2021, a 30% decline over the previous month.

Top five power companies in Europe’s IT recruitment activity in November 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 35.45% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s power industry during November 2021 over previous month.

Umicore posted 132 IT jobs in November 2021 and registered an increase of 59.04% over the previous month, followed by Siemens with 132 jobs and a 2.94% drop. E.ON with 88 IT jobs and Vestas Wind Systems with 59 jobs, recorded a 700% rise and an 11.94% drop, respectively, while Nordex recorded a 9.09% increase with 36 job postings during November 2021.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s power industry

Germany commanded a leading presence in the region’s power industry IT hiring activity with a 25.41% share in November 2021, a 63.41% increase over October 2021. Belgium featured next with a 17.19% share, up 63.86% over the previous month. The UK recorded a 12.9% share, a growth of 7.37% compared with October 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in November 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 69.91%, up by 7.17% from October 2021. Mid Level positions with a 15.04% share, registered a growth of 52.56% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 14.54% share, up 19.79% over October 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.51%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
