Description

The project was developed by ENGIE Green France and Moroccan Agency for Sustainable Energy. Futuren and Office National de l’Electricite et de l’Eau Potable are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 80% and 20% respectively.

The project generates 226GWh electricity thereby offsetting 235,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year. The project cost is $52m.

Development Status

The project is currently active. The project got commissioned in August 2000.

Power Purchase Agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to Office National de l’Electricite et de l’Eau Potable under a power purchase agreement for a period of 20 years.

Contractors Involved

Abdelkhalek Torres (Abdelkhalek Torres- Phase I) is equipped with Vestas Wind Systems V42-600 kW turbines. The phase consists of 84 turbines with 0.6MW nameplate capacity.

Abdelkhalek Torres (Abdelkhalek Torres- Phase II) is equipped with Enercon E-40 turbines. The phase consists of 7 turbines with 0.6MW nameplate capacity.
