The project is being developed and currently owned by Egyptian Electricity Holding.
Ataka Mount is a pumped storage project. The gross head of the project will be 600m. The project cost is expected to be around $2,600m.
The hydro power project consists of 6 turbines, each with 400MW nameplate capacity.
Development Status
Post completion of the construction, the project is expected to get commissioned in 2024.
Contractors Involved
Sinohydro is expected to render EPC services for the hydro power project.
