Bahrain Solar PV Park, Bahrain

Bahrain Solar PV Park is a 100MW solar PV power project. It is planned in Southern, Bahrain. The project is currently in permitting stage. It will be developed in single phase. The project construction is likely to commence in 2022 and is expected to enter into commercial operation in September 2023.

Description

The project is being developed by International Company for Water and Power Projects, Mitsui and Vision Invest. Mitsui and Almoayyed International Group are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 30% and 10% respectively.

Bahrain Solar PV Park is a ground-mounted solar project which is planned over 2,000,000 square meters.

The project cost is expected to be around $130m.

Development Status

The project construction is expected to commence from 2022. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by September 2023.

Power Purchase Agreement

The power generated from the project will be sold to Electricity & Water Authority under a power purchase agreement. The power will be sold at the rate of $0.039kWh for a period of 20 years. The capacity to be procured is 100MW.

Contractors Involved

The First National Operation & Maintenance is expected to perform operations and maintenance for the solar PV power project.
