Benue Coal Fired Power Plant, Nigeria

The Benue Coal Fired Power Plant is 1,200MW coal fired power project. It is planned in Benue, Nigeria. The project is currently in permitting stage. It will be developed in single phase. The project construction is likely to commence in 2035 and is expected to enter into commercial operation in 2037.

The project is being developed by Pacific Energy and SEPCOIII Electric Power Construction. These companies also have ownership stakes in the project.

It is a steam turbine power plant. The fuel will be procured from Orukpa Coal Mine.

The project cost is expected to be around $4,000m.

Development Status

The project construction is expected to commence from 2035. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by 2037.
