The project is developed and owned by Chongqing Navigation Construction and Development.
Caojie is a run-of-river project. The net head of the project is 20m. The project generated 1,996 GWh of electricity. The project cost is $515.875m.

Power Purchase Agreement
The power generated from the project is sold to Central China Grid under a power purchase agreement.
Contractors Involved
Voith Hydro Holding was selected as the turbine supplier for the hydro power project. The company provided 4 units of kaplan turbines, each with 128.2MW nameplate capacity.
Andritz Hydro supplied 4 electric generators for the project.
