The project was developed by SNC-Lavalin Group and is currently owned by NHPC with a stake of 100%.
Chamera Phase I is a run-of-river project. The hydro reservoir capacity is 3,913 million cubic meter. The net head of the project is 185m. The project generated 1,664 GWh of electricity. The project cost is $452.77m.

The project got commissioned in 1994.
Power Purchase Agreement
Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam, Tata Power Delhi Distribution and Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam are the power offtakers from the project.
Contractors Involved
GE Power India was selected as the turbine supplier for the hydro power project. The company provided 3 units of francis turbines, each with 180MW nameplate capacity.
Bharat Heavy Electricals supplied 3 electric generators for the project. The generator capacity is 200 MVA.
