Description

The project is developed and owned by Maharashtra State Power Generation.

It is a steam turbine power plant. The power plant run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant is coal. In case of shortage of coal the plant can also run on Fuel Oil. The fuel is procured from machhakata captive coal mines, durgapur and padmapur collieries.

Development Status

The project got commissioned in November 1984.

BGR Energy Systems was selected to render EPC services for the Chandrapur Super Thermal Power Station (Chandrapur Super Thermal Power Station Expansion Unit I) project. BGR Energy Systems was selected to render EPC services for the Chandrapur Super Thermal Power Station (Chandrapur Super Thermal Power Station Expansion Unit II) project.

Bharat Heavy Electricals was selected as the turbine supplier for the Coal fired project.

Bharat Heavy Electricals supplied electric generator for the project.

Bharat Heavy Electricals supplied steam boiler for the project.
