Description

The project is being developed and currently owned by First Solar (Australia).

Chinchilla Solar PV Park is a ground-mounted solar project which is planned over 300 hectares.

The project is expected to supply enough clean energy to power 40,000 households, to offset 200,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year. The project cost is expected to be around $109m.

Development Status

The project construction is expected to commence from 2023. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by 2024.

Contractors Involved

First Solar will be the supplier of the PV modules for the solar power project. The company is expected to install 250,000 modules at the site.
