The project was developed by Sinohydro and is currently owned by Hidroelectrica Coca Codo SInclair.
Coca Codo Sinclair is a run-of-river project. The net head of the project is 604.1m. The total number of penstocks, pipes or long channels that carry water down from the hydroelectric reservoir to the turbines inside the actual power station, are 2 in number. The penstock length is 1,900m. The project generated 8,630 GWh of electricity. The project cost is $2,500m.
The hydro power project consists of 8 generators each with 205 MVA nameplate capacity.
Development Status
The project construction commenced in 2010 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in 2016.

Sinohydro was selected to render EPC services for the hydro power project.
Harbin Electric Machinery was selected as the turbine supplier for the hydro power project. The project consists of 8 units of Pelton turbines, each with 187.5MW nameplate capacity.
