Additional information

Drumheller Solar & Battery Storage Project will be developed as a joint venture between developer Longspur Developments and local businessman Robert Bilton, connected to local electricity distribution company ATCO Electric’s 25kV distribution system and then to the Alberta Interconnected Electric System (AIES). The battery will be charged by the solar farm at times of low demand and will be discharged to the grid at peak times, offsetting peak loads and easing stress on the wider electrical system. The total development costs for the project are expected to be approximately $25 million.
