Ebetsu Biomass Power Plant is a 25.4MW biopower project. It is located in Hokkaido, Japan. The project is currently active. It has been developed in single phase. Post completion of construction, the project got commissioned in January 2016.

Description

The project is developed and owned by Oji Holdings.

The project generates 150GWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 40,000 households. The project cost is $108.492m.

The process of combustion has been adopted in this project to release the stored energy from the feed. Forest residue which is a kind of agricultural by-product is used as a feedstock to power the project.

Development Status

The project got commissioned in January 2016.

Contractors Involved

Sumitomo SHI FW Energia supplied steam boiler for the project.
