Description

The project was developed by Cobra Gestion de Infraestructuras and Hydro Caisan. The project is currently owned by Panama Power Holdings.

El Alto is a run-of-river project. The hydro reservoir capacity is 3.9 million cubic meter. The net head of the project is 132m. The penstock length is 368m. The project generated 270 GWh of electricity.

The project commenced construction in 2011.

S.E.L.I was selected to render EPC services for the hydro power project.

Andritz Hydro was selected as the turbine supplier for the hydro power project. The company provided 3 units of francis turbines, each with 22.3MW nameplate capacity.

Alconza Berango, S.L supplied 3 electric generators for the project. The generator capacity is 26.47 MVA.
