Eurus_Acciona, Mexico

Eurus_Acciona is a 250.5MW onshore wind power project. It is located in Oaxaca, Mexico. The project is currently active. It has been developed in multiple phases. Post completion of construction, the project got commissioned in February 2009.

The project was developed by Acciona Energia and Cemex. The project is currently owned by Acciona Energia Internacional.

The project generates 989,500MWh electricity thereby offsetting 600,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year. The project cost is $550m.

Development Status

The project is currently active. The project got commissioned in February 2009.

Power Purchase Agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to Cemex under a power purchase agreement for a period of 20 years.

Contractors Involved

Eurus_Acciona (Eurus 1) is equipped with Nordex turbines. The phase consists of 25 turbines, each with 1.5MW nameplate capacity.

Eurus_Acciona (Eurus 2) is equipped with Nordex turbines. The phase consists of 142 turbines, each with 1.5MW nameplate capacity.
