The project is currently owned by VERBUND Hydro Power with a stake of 100%.

Ferlach-Maria Rain is a run-of-river project. The gross head of the project is 21.2m. The project generated 315.758 GWh of electricity.

Development Status

The project construction commenced in 1971 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in 1975.

Contractors Involved

Voith Hydro Holding was selected as the turbine supplier for the hydro power project. The company provided 2 units of kaplan turbines, each with 39MW nameplate capacity.

Andritz Hydro supplied 2 electric generators for the project. The generator capacity is 50 MVA.
