Genevapca Refineria Cardon Power Plant is a 300MW gas fired power project. It is located in Falcon, Venezuela. The project is currently active. It has been developed in single phase. Post completion of construction, the project got commissioned in September 1995.

Description

The project was developed by Generacion de Vapor GENEVAPCA and is currently owned by Petroleos de Venezuela.

It is a Gas Turbine power plant. The power plant run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant is gas. In case of shortage of gas the plant can also run on Fuel Oil. The fuel is procured from Petroleos de Venezuela S.A..

Development Status

The project got commissioned in September 1995.

Power Purchase Agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to Compania Anonima de Administracion y Fomento Electrico under a power purchase agreement.

Contractors Involved

Siemens was selected as the turbine supplier for the Gas fired project. The company provided 3 units of SGT6-3000E gas turbines, each with 100MW nameplate capacity.

Siemens Energy supplied electric generator for the project.
