The project is developed and owned by Karntner Elektrizitats-Aktiengesellschaft.

Golica is a pumped storage project. The net head of the project is 735.5m. The penstock length is 3,200m. The penstock diameter is 1.6m. Golica underwent through rehabilitation & modernization during 2010-2011. The project generated 160 GWh of electricity.

The nameplate capacity of electric generator(s) installed at the site is 40 MVA.

The power generated from the project is sold to Elektro Slovenija under a power purchase agreement.
