The project was developed by China Southern Power Grid and is currently owned by Hainan Pumped Storage Power Generation.
Hainan Qiongzhong is a pumped storage project. The hydro reservoir capacity is 9.006 million cubic meter. The project generated 1,020 GWh of electricity. The project cost is $621.348m.
