Hirono Large Scale IGCC Project is a 543MW coal fired power project. It is located in Fukushima, Japan. The project is currently active. It has been developed in single phase. The project construction commenced in 2018 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in November 2021.

The project was developed by Hirono IGCC Power GK. Mitsubishi Corp Energy Solutions, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, JERA and Mitsubishi Electric are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 40%, 40%, 10% and 10% respectively.
It is a Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle (IGCC) power plant. The fuel is procured from Spring Creek Mine.
The project cost is $1,465.231m.
The project construction commenced in 2018 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in November 2021.
Mitsubishi Power was selected to render EPC services for the coal fired power project.
Mitsubishi Power was selected as the turbine supplier for the Coal fired project. The company supplied M701F4 – 50Hz model gas turbines for the project.
