The project is currently owned by Companhia Brasileira de Aluminio with a stake of 100%.
Itupararanga is a reservoir based project. The hydro reservoir capacity is 302.08 million cubic meter. The gross head of the project is 206m. The project generated 150 GWh of electricity.
