Description
The project is currently owned by Sapphire Wind Power Company (Pvt).
The project generates 129,400MWh electricity thereby offsetting 85,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year. The project cost is $127.7m.
Development Status
The project is currently active. The project got commissioned in December 2015.
Power Purchase Agreement
The power generated from the project is sold to National Transmission & Despatch under a power purchase agreement.
Contractors Involved
China Hydropower Engineering Consulting Group and Power Construction Corporation of China were selected to render EPC services for the wind power project.
GE Renewable Energy was selected as the turbine supplier for the wind power project. The company provided 33 units of GE 1.6xle turbines, each with 1.6MW nameplate capacity.
GE Renewable Energy is the O&M contractor for the wind power project for a period of 10 years.
