Description
The project was developed by China Gezhouba Group and Yalongjiang Hydropower Development. SDIC Electric Power and Sichuan Chuantou Energy are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 52% and 48% respectively.
Jinping II is a reservoir based project. The hydro reservoir capacity is 14.28 million cubic meter. The gross head and net head of the project are 318.8m and 288m respectively. The project generated 24,230 GWh of electricity. The project cost is $4,868.832m.
Development Status
The project construction commenced in 2007 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in 2012.
Contractors Involved
Voith Hydro Holding was selected as the turbine supplier for the hydro power project. The company provided 8 units of francis turbines, each with 600MW nameplate capacity.
GE Renewable Energy supplied 8 electric generators for the project. The generator capacity is 667 MVA.
