Description

The project is developed and owned by Dans Energy.

Jorethang Loop is a run-of-river project. The hydro reservoir capacity is 0.45 million cubic meter. The gross head and net head of the project are 86m and 74m respectively. The total number of penstocks, pipes or long channels that carry water down from the hydroelectric reservoir to the turbines inside the actual power station, are 1 in number. The penstock length is 172.6m. The penstock diameter is 6m. The project generated 444 GWh of electricity. The project cost is $157.164m.

Development Status

The project got commissioned in 2015.

Contractors Involved

GE Power India was selected as the turbine supplier for the hydro power project. The company provided 2 units of francis turbines, each with 48MW nameplate capacity.

GE Power India supplied 2 electric generators for the project.
