Kerio Valley, Kenya

Kerio Valley is a 60MW hydro power project. It is planned on arror river/basin in Elgeyo-Marakwet, Kenya. The project is currently in permitting stage. It will be developed in single phase. Post completion of the construction, the project is expected to get commissioned in 2023.

The project is being developed by Cooperativa Muratori & Cementisti C.M.C di Ravenna and Itinera. The project is currently owned by Kerio Valley Development Authority.

The penstock diameter will be 1.6m. The project is expected to generate 189.5 GWh of electricity. The project cost is expected to be around $385m.

The hydro power project consists of 1 turbine with 10MW nameplate capacity.
