Description

The project is developed and owned by The Tata Power.

The gross head of the project is 515m. The total number of penstocks, pipes or long channels that carry water down from the hydroelectric reservoir to the turbines inside the actual power station, are 6 in number. The penstock length is 1,356m. The penstock diameter is 0.97m. The project generated 321.83 GWh of electricity.

Development Status

The project got commissioned in 1915.

Power Purchase Agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport Undertaking under a power purchase agreement.

Contractors Involved

Voith Hydro Holding was selected as the turbine supplier for the hydro power project. The company provided 3 units of pelton turbines, each with 24MW nameplate capacity.

Voith Hydro Holding supplied 3 electric generators for the project.
