Kobong Pumped Storage is a 1,200MW hydro power project. It is planned on Kobong river/basin in Lesotho. The project is currently in permitting stage. It will be developed in single phase. Post completion of the construction, the project is expected to get commissioned in 2024.

The project is being developed and currently owned by Lesotho Highlands Development Authority.
Kobong Pumped Storage is a pumped storage project. The hydro reservoir capacity is planned to be 780 million cubic meter. The project cost is expected to be around $1,300m.
Development Status
Post completion of the construction, the project is expected to get commissioned in 2024.

Trans-Caledon Tunnel Authority is expected to perform operations and maintenance for the hydro power project.
