La Luna Coal Fired Power Plant, Colombia

The La Luna Coal Fired Power Plant is 1,125MW coal fired power project. It is planned in Cesar, Colombia. The project is currently in permitting stage. It will be developed in multiple phases. The project construction is likely to commence in 2022 and is expected to enter into commercial operation in 2024.

The project is being developed and currently owned by Central Termoelectrica La Luna. The company has a stake of 100%.

It is a steam turbine power plant. The fuel will be procured from La Luna coal mine.

The project cost is expected to be around $1,600m.

Development Status

The project construction is expected to commence from 2022. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by 2024.
