The electricitiy generated from the plant has offsetted 16,951t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year. The project cost is $461.28m.
Latur Biomass Plant is a combined heat and power (CHP) project. Bagasse which is a kind of agricultural by-product is used as a feedstock to power the project.
