Liujiaxia, China

Liujiaxia is a 1,350MW hydro power project. It is located on Yellow river/basin in Gansu, China. The project is currently active. It has been developed in single phase. The project construction commenced in 1958 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in 1969.

Description

The project is developed and owned by State Grid Gansu Electric Power.

Liujiaxia is a reservoir based project. The hydro reservoir capacity is 5,700 million cubic meter. Liujiaxia underwent through rehabilitation & modernization during 1994, 1998-2000, 2001-2002. The project generated 5,700 GWh of electricity.

The hydro power project consists of 2 turbines, each with 225MW nameplate capacity.

Development Status

The project construction commenced in 1958 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in 1969.

Power Purchase Agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to State Grid Corporation of China under a power purchase agreement.

Harbin Electric Machinery was selected as the turbine supplier for the hydro power project. The company provided 1 turbine with 225MW nameplate capacity.
