Lufubu 1 HPP is a 132MW hydro power project. It is planned on Lufubu river/basin in Northern, Zambia. The project is currently in permitting stage. It will be developed in multiple phases. Post completion of the construction, the project is expected to get commissioned in 2025.

Description
The project is being developed and currently owned by LPC Lufubu Power.
The hydro reservoir capacity is planned to be 720 million cubic meter. The gross head of the project will be 146m. The penstock length will be 2,600m. The penstock diameter will be 4.2m.
Lufubu 1 HPP (Unit-I) consists of 1 unit of francis turbine with 66MW nameplate capacity.
Lufubu 1 HPP (Unit-II (Expansion)) consists of 1 unit of francis turbine with 66MW nameplate capacity.
The nameplate capacity of electric generator(s) to be installed at the Lufubu 1 HPP (Unit-I) site is 76.5 MVA.
The nameplate capacity of electric generator(s) to be installed at the Lufubu 1 HPP (Unit-II (Expansion)) site is 76.5 MVA.
Development Status
Post completion of the construction, the project is expected to get commissioned in 2025.
