The project is currently owned by VERBUND Hydro Power with a stake of 100%.
Malta Oberstufe is a pumped storage project. The hydro reservoir capacity is 200 million cubic meter. The gross head of the project is 198m. The project generated 37.4 GWh of electricity.

Contractors Involved
ATELIERS DES CHARMILLES was selected as the turbine supplier for the hydro power project. The company provided 2 units of francis turbines, each with 62.8MW nameplate capacity.
Andritz Hydro supplied 2 electric generators for the project. The generator capacity is 70 MVA.
