Merida III Combined Cycle Power Plant is a 505MW gas fired power project. It is located in Yucatan, Mexico. The project is currently active. It has been developed in single phase. Post completion of construction, the project got commissioned in June 2000.

Description

The project is currently owned by The AES with a stake of 75%.

It is a Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power plant. The power plant run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant is natural gas. In case of shortage of natural gas the plant can also run on Diesel.

Development Status

The project got commissioned in June 2000.

Power Purchase Agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to Comision Federal de Electricidad under a power purchase agreement for a period of 25 years, starting from 2000.

Contractors Involved

The Gas fired project have been supplied by Siemens and Siemens Energy.

Siemens Energy supplied electric generator for the project.

Cerrey supplied steam boiler for the project.
