Monte Redondo – Chile is a 48MW onshore wind power project. It is located in Coquimbo, Chile. The project is currently active. It has been developed in multiple phases. Post completion of construction, the project got commissioned in October 2009.

Description

The project was developed by Ingenieria Seawind Sudamerica and is currently owned by Engie Energia Chile with a stake of 100%.

The project supplies enough clean energy to power 74,000 households, offsetting 68,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year. The project cost is $127m.

Development Status

The project is currently active. The project got commissioned in October 2009.

Power Purchase Agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to CGE Transmision under a power purchase agreement for a period of 14 years, starting from 2010.

Contractors Involved

WSP Global was selected to render EPC services for the wind power project.

Vestas Wind Systems was selected as the turbine supplier for the wind power project. The project consists of 24 units of V90-2.0 MW turbines, each with 2MW nameplate capacity.

Eolica Monte Redondo and Ingeteam Corporacion were contracted to render operations & maintenance services for the project.
