Nam Phay is an 86MW hydro power project. It is located on Nam Phay river/basin in Vientiane, Laos. The project is currently active. It has been developed in single phase. Post completion of construction, the project got commissioned in 2017.

The project was developed by Nam Phay Electric Power. NORINCO International Cooperation and Electricite du Laos are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 85% and 15% respectively.
The gross head of the project is 700m. The penstock length is 1,507m. The project generated 420 GWh of electricity. The project cost is $218m.
The project got commissioned in 2017.
Power Purchase Agreement
The power generated from the project is sold to Electricite du Laos under a power purchase agreement.
Chongqing Water Turbine Works was selected as the turbine supplier for the hydro power project. The company provided 2 units of pelton turbines, each with 43MW nameplate capacity.
Chongqing Water Turbine Works supplied 2 electric generators for the project.
