Nedre Otta is an 86MW hydro power project. It is located on Otta river/basin in Innlandet, Norway. The project is currently active. It has been developed in single phase. The project construction commenced in 2016 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in 2020.

The project was developed by AS Eidefoss, E-CO Energi Holding, Eidsiva Vannkraft and Nedre Otta DA. AS Eidefoss, E-CO Energi Holding and Eidsiva Vannkraft are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 50%, 27% and 23% respectively.

Nedre Otta is a run-of-river project. The gross head of the project is 55m. The project generated 315 GWh of electricity. The project cost is $148.183m.

Development Status

The project construction commenced in 2016 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in 2020.

Contractors Involved

Andritz Hydro was selected as the turbine supplier for the hydro power project. The company provided 2 units of kaplan turbines, each with 43MW nameplate capacity.

Andritz Hydro supplied 2 electric generators for the project.
