The project is currently owned by Pampa Energia with a stake of 100%.
Nihuil I is a reservoir based project. The gross head of the project is 189m. The penstock length is 347m. The penstock diameter is 4m. Nihuil I underwent through rehabilitation & modernization during 2000. The project generated 365 GWh of electricity.

Contractors Involved
Ansaldo Energia was selected as the turbine supplier for the hydro power project. The company provided 4 units of francis turbines, each with 18.56MW nameplate capacity.
