The Oma Power Project is 1,080MW gas fired power project. It is planned in Abia, Nigeria. The project is currently in permitting stage. It will be developed in multiple phases. Post completion of the construction, the project is expected to get commissioned in 2022.

Description

The project is being developed by Oma Power Generation. Geometric Power and GE Power are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 60% and 40% respectively.

It is a combined cycle gas turbine (ccgt) power plant. The fuel will be procured from Accugas Limited.

Development Status

Post completion of the construction, the project is expected to get commissioned in 2022.

Power Purchase Agreement

The power generated from the project will be sold to Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading under a power purchase agreement for a period of 20 years. The offtake capacity is expected to be 500MW.

Contractors Involved

China Machinery Engineering is expected to render EPC services for the gas fired power project.

Oma Power Project (Oma Power Project Phase I) will be equipped with GE Power Frame 9 gas turbines.
