Description

Paks 6 is a Generation III+ nuclear reactor being developed by Atomproekt and Atomstroyexport, are the main contractors for the project.

The 1,262MW reactor is currently owned and will be operated by MVM Paks Nuclear Power Plant. The company has a stake of 100%.

Paks 6 is a type of PWR reactor. It will feature 163 fuel assemblies in the core of reactor, the place where fission occurs and energy is released.

Development status

The reactor construction is expected to commence from 2025. Subsequent to that it will enter commercial operation by 2032.

Contractors involved

GE Power will be the steam turbine supplier for the nuclear reactor. MVM ERBE Zrt is expected to be the architect engineer for the reactor. The civil works will be carried out by KESZ Building and Construction.
