Description

The project was developed by Parques Eolicos del Caribe. Akuo Energy, GAM Capital and Siemens Financial Services are currently owning the project.

The project supplies enough clean energy to power 150,000 households, offsetting 142,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.

The project has 80m high towers.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to Corporacion Dominicana de Empresas Electricas Estatales under a power purchase agreement for a period of 20 years from 2019. The contracted capacity is 50MW.

Contractors involved

Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy was selected as the turbine supplier for the wind power project. The company provided 25 units of G114-2.0 MW turbines, each with 2MW nameplate capacity.

Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy Eolica is the O&M contractor for the wind power project for a period of 5 years.
