The project was developed by MVV O&M and is currently owned by MVV Energie.

The project generates 190GWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 37,000 households, offsetting 77,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year. The project cost is $305.955m.

The process of combustion has been adopted in this combined heat and power (CHP) project to release the stored energy from the feed. Industrial waste and municipal solid waste are used as a feedstock to power the project.
