The project is being developed by 3G Energy, Confederation Power, Elemental Energy, Katalyst Wind and Vector Wind Energy. 3G Energy, Confederation Power, Elemental Energy, Katalyst Wind and Nova Scotia Power are currently owning the project.

Higgins Mountain Wind Farm (Higgins Mountain Wind Farm - Phase II) consists of 17 turbines with 5.9MW nameplate capacity.

The Higgins Mountain Wind Farm (Higgins Mountain Wind Farm - Phase I), will have 69m high towers.

Development status

Post completion of the construction, the project is expected to get commissioned in December 2006.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the Higgins Mountain Wind Farm (Higgins Mountain Wind Farm - Phase I) will be sold to Nova Scotia Power under a power purchase agreement for a period of 16 years from 2006. The offtake capacity is expected to be 3.6MW.

Contractors involved

Higgins Mountain Wind Farm (Higgins Mountain Wind Farm - Phase I) will be equipped with Vensys Energy VENSYS 62 turbines. The phase consists of 3 turbines with 1.2MW nameplate capacity.

One Wind Services is expected to perform operations and maintenance for the Higgins Mountain Wind Farm (Higgins Mountain Wind Farm - Phase I). The O&M tenure will likely be commencing from the year 2006.
