The project is being developed by ACEN Australia. The project is co-owned by AC Energy and Infrastructure and UPC Renewables, with their respective ownership stake of 50% each.
New England Solar Farm is a ground-mounted solar project which is planned over 2,000 hectares.
The project is expected to generate 1,800,000MWh electricity and supply enough clean energy to power 250,000 households. The project is expected to offset 1,500,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year. The project cost is expected to be around $768m.
