Description

Tianwan 7 is a Generation III+ nuclear reactor being developed by Atomstroyexport, the main contractor for the project.

The 1,265MW reactor will be operated by Jiangsu Nuclear Power. China National Nuclear, State Power Investment and Jiangsu Guoxin Investment Group are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 50%, 30% and 20% respectively.

Tianwan 7 is a type of PWR reactor. It will feature 163 fuel assemblies in the core of reactor, the place where fission occurs and energy is released.

Development status

The reactor construction is expected to commence from May, 2021. Subsequent to that it will enter commercial operation by 2026.

Contractors involved

Shanghai Electric Group will be the steam turbine supplier for the nuclear reactor. Atomstroyexport is expected to be the architect engineer for the reactor. The reactor vessel is expected to be supplied by AEM-technology. The material used for the construction of the vessel will be Steel 15H2NMFA. The civil works will be carried out by China Nuclear Industry 23rd Construction.
