Queimado is a 105MW hydro power project. It is located on Preto river/basin in Minas Gerais, Brazil. The project is currently active. It has been developed in single phase. Post completion of construction, the project got commissioned in 2004.

Description

The project was developed by ALSTOM Power Holdings, Bardella SA Industrias Mecanicas and Queiroz Galvao Energia. Cemig Geracao e Transmissao and Companhia Energetica de Brasilia are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 82.5% and 17.5% respectively.

The project cost is $88m.

Development Status

The project got commissioned in 2004.

Contractors Involved

GE Renewable Energy was selected as the turbine supplier for the hydro power project. The company provided 3 units of francis turbines, each with 36MW nameplate capacity.

GE Renewable Energy supplied 3 electric generators for the project. The generator capacity is 37 MVA.
