Description

The project was developed by Orsted. Orsted, Macquarie European Infrastructure Fund 5, Sumitomo, Arjun Infrastructure Partners and Gravis Capital Management are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 50%, 25%, 12.5%, 6.25% and 6.25% respectively.

The wind turbines in the project are installed on fixed foundations. An array of monopile foundations feature in the project.

The project supplies enough clean energy to power 500,000 households, offsetting 830,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.

The project is currently active. The project construction commenced in 2016 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in February 2018.

Power purchase agreement

Nestle UK and Northumbrian Water are the power offtakers from the project.

Contractors involved

Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy was selected as the turbine supplier for the wind power project. The company provided 91 units of SWT-6.0-154 turbines, each with 6.3MW nameplate capacity.

Orsted and Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy were contracted to render operations & maintenance services for the project.

The rotor blades have been supplied by Siemens. The blade length is 154.000m.
