Rajabasa Geothermal Power Plant, Indonesia

Rajabasa Geothermal Power Plant is a 220MW geothermal power project. It is planned in Lampung, Indonesia. The project is currently in permitting stage. It will be developed in multiple phases. The project construction is likely to commence in 2022 and is expected to enter into commercial operation in 2023.

Description

The project is being developed and currently owned by Engie, PT Supreme Energy and Sumitomo. The company’s ownership stake in the project stands as 35%, 35% and 30% respectively.

The geothermal site has in total 22 number of wells.

The project is expected to generate 1,730GWh electricity to offset 1,105,668t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.

The geothermal power project will consists of 2 turbines each with 110 MW nameplate capacity.

Development Status

The project construction is expected to commence from 2022. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by 2023.

Power Purchase Agreement

The power generated from the project will be sold to PT PLN (Persero) under a power purchase agreement. The power will be sold at the rate of $0.094kWh for a period of 30 years.
