Ras Abu Fontas – B Power Plant is a 609MW gas fired power project. It is located in Al Wakrah, Qatar. The project is currently active. It has been developed in multiple phases. Post completion of construction, the project got commissioned in 1995.

Description

The project is currently owned by Qatar Electricity & Water Co QPSC with a stake of 100%.

It is a CCGT with Cogen power plant.

The project generated 4,508,615MWh of electricity.

Development Status

The project got commissioned in 1995.

Power Purchase Agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to Qatar General Electricity and Water under a power purchase agreement for a period of 20 years.

Contractors Involved

GE Power was selected as the turbine supplier for the Gas fired project. The company supplied GT13E2 model gas turbines for the project.

GE Power supplied electric generator for the project.

Nooter/Eriksen supplied steam boiler for the project.
