Rio Bravo IV (Valle Hermoso) Combined Cycle Power Plant, Mexico

Rio Bravo IV (Valle Hermoso) Combined Cycle Power Plant is a 550MW gas fired power project. It is located in Tamaulipas, Mexico. The project is currently active. It has been developed in single phase. Post completion of construction, the project got commissioned in April 2005.

Description

The project was developed by EDF International. Mitsui, Tokyo Gas, JERA and Tohoku Electric Power are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 40%, 30%, 20% and 10% respectively.

It is a Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power plant. The fuel is procured from Gasoducto del Rio SA de CV.

The project generated 2,711,000MWh of electricity.

The project got commissioned in April 2005.

Power Purchase Agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to Comision Federal de Electricidad under a power purchase agreement for a period of 25 years.

Contractors Involved

The Gas fired project have been supplied by GE Power and Siemens.

The electric generators for the project were procured from GE Power and Siemens Energy.

John Cockerill Group supplied steam boiler for the project.

Compania Mexicana de Gerencia y Operaciones is the O&M contractor for thermal power project.
